I tried v2.19 on a Gateway 4300 series computer I have here. It wasn't able to recognize my Network card. I did some digging and apparently inaddition to the sk98lin and skge kernel modules, some Marvell Yukon 88E8050 NICs require the sky2 kernel module. I was able to boot an Ubuntu 6.06 Live CD and it was able to detect and load the sky2 module. It had an 2.5.15 based kernel. SysRescueCD v2.19 had a 2.6.16 (? - going from memory here) based kernel. Could we get an SysRescueCD with this module included? What would be need to 'remaster' my current CD, to include this module?
Thanks,
George

Nope, sorry. I was unable to (didn't have the time) remaster an sysrescueCD to include this module to see if it detects this NIC. But for others who are interested, I was able to use the Ubuntu Live CD that booted and auto-detected the NIC to get on the internet, d/l the partimage binary and run it in Ubuntu and make a image of the machine.

Could you try SystemRescueCd-0.3 ? It has a recent 2.6.18 kernel, and it provides your kernel module (CONFIG_SKY2=m).
You can find the download link there: http://www.sysresccd.org/Beta
Hope it helps

Thanks to both, gboutwell and fdupoux for your replies :D.
To fdupoux: I will be pleased to try the new SystemRescueCd-0.3. In a few hours i'll try it and post the results here.
By the way, I was looking the new packages list included in this version and noticed that it's also included "ndiswrapper", it is great! These days before I have been working on this utility in order to include it in a customized sysresccd and solve the Marvell Yukon problem, now, I can solve this problem with both ways (kernel module sky2 and window$ drivers with ndiswrapper  ). I'll test them.
Thank you very much!

Works fine.
I have tried the new sysresccd with good results.
After booting, I did a 'modprobe sky2', then 'ifconfig' and there it is: Marvell Yukon on eth0 :D. Thanks!!
I also have been testing 'ndiswrapper', installed the yk51x86 (.inf) windows driver with the command 'ndiswrapper -i yk51x86.inf', then a 'ndiwrapper -l' showed the driver correctly installed, but when I tried to load the ndiswrapper module, modprobe says that there isnt a kernel module named ndiswrapper :S.

Ok...I know why I can't load ndiswrapper properly. For some reason, the kernel recompile from beta1 to beta2 made the ndiswrapper kernel module not to install correctly, I tested this module on sysresccd beta1 and a modprobe ndiswrapper worked fine, but on beta2, it says that cannot find that kernel module. So here there's another bug prepared to be solved in next release :P.
