I have a question about patching for the config-x86-2.6.24-fd14.conf. I have downloaded the 2.6.24 kernel Source from kernel.org, but when I try to patch the kernel I got an error patching.
Here are the patches I'm using.
From the within the kernel at the terminal. I type in
[[email protected] linux-2.6.24]# patch -p1 < /build/1-fd-sources-2.6.24.02_01-fedora-058-fc8.patch
The patch works but when I try to patch
[[email protected] linux-2.6.24]# patch -p1 < /build/fd-sources-2.6.24.xx_02-rmsquashfs.patch
patching file fs/Kconfig
Hunk #1 succeeded at 1405 (offset -1 lines).
The next patch would create the file fs/Kconfig.orig,
which already exists! Assume -R? [n]
What should I do about this, all I can think is I'm using the wrong kernel sources. What source kernel are you using for this.
Thanks for the help .
The config-x86-2.6.24-fd14.conf isn't in the source yet. I patch the kernel first before i copy in the config file into the source file.
patch -p1 < /build/2-fd-sources-2.6.24.xx_02-rmsquashfs.patch
patch -p1 < /build/3-fd-sources-2.6.24.xx_03-sqlzma-3.3.0.patch
