Thanks for you reply, Notice the comment in my earlier post: "...and it works good on my old computer" And that's what so weird about it.. The same stick works or doesn't work depending on which computer it's in. Anyway, I borrowed a stick from a friend today and that stick boots the kernel.. Maybe ...

How to customize with new kernel

Hello, I've recently bought an Asus P5VDC-MX motherboard, and it's equipped with the Via VT8251 chipset. I had some problems with the onboard SATA controller, but found out that support for VT8251 comes with the 2.6.18 kernel, and updated the box to use linux-2.6.18-rc2 and now it works like a charm...
