Re: Lack of ClamAV

As I said I don't understand the size concerns. We're not anywhere near where a full CD isn't capable of keeping the image.

Re: Please update ddrescue

1.18 is actually out now. I'm downloading 4.3.0b2 now to see if it's included in that. I'll post back here as soon as I know.

Re: USB boot issue with 2.0 usb installer (Windows)

After a bit of trial and error, I've found that the RescueCDInstaller only works properly if your USB device does NOT have a partition table. Unfortunately there is no obvious way (that I am aware of) under Windows to determine this - on Linux you can simply check syslog for: sdb: sdb1 or the lack ...

Lack of ClamAV

I realize I can download and build ClamAV after booting, but why was it removed? Size savings? The ISO still isn't the full 700MB we can fit on a CD-R. I'd really love to see the ISO actually include ClamAV again as well a other utilities to increase utility, up to 700MB. As an aside, is there any w...

Re: Please STOP the growing

As long as it fits on a CD why is there a problem? If you have an ancient computer you can always grab an older version of the iso. I prefer having more features than less. I do agree that what is added should be carefully considered so as not to turn this into a full distribution, but at under 500M...

Re: Please upgrade BusyBox

I suppose as a workaround you could create a custom ISO with the busybox static binary for your architecture replacing the one that sysres normally has.

Re: poweroff is way too slow

I just sync and unmount any filesystems I had in use then hold the power button down til it shuts off. Or hit the reset button if I want to reboot.

Re: I want Firefox -- continuous

It is quite easy to remaster the ISO with the Firefox srm inside it. First time I did it, not including the download, took 30 seconds.

Re: Any Chance of 3.7 in the 3.3.x series?

On the desktop HD7970, i5 3570K, it boots fine with the alt kernel. X works, the whole shebang.

Re: Any Chance of 3.7 in the 3.3.x series?

Boots fine, but X won't properly display on the Alternative kernel on an AMD Llano A6. Will update on the HD7970 later. Any info I should grab that would help get 'em working?

Any Chance of 3.7 in the 3.3.x series?

The driver in this kernel is much better on newer AMD devices, on the 7xxx series I've found problems booting.
