Windows 2000 supports udf

Post by Tuipveus » 25 Dec 2007, 18:35

According DVD+RW howto:

"Windows 2000 and previous versions cannot read UDF discs. Windows XP, 2003 and Vista supports UDF."

But according wikipedia.org in udf -article Windows support for udf is following:

Windows 98/Me (Read) 1.02
Windows 2000 (Read) 1.02, 1.50
Windows XP/2003 (Read) 1.02, 1.50, 2.01
Windows Vista (Read+write) 1.02, 1.50, 2.0x, 2.50, (Read) 2.60.

I was not able to read an UDF disc under Windows 2000. Maybe it works with a recent Service Pack / update ?

Try again, I think it should work... According http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodte ... x?mfr=true
Note Windows 2000 reads both UDF versions 1.02 and 1.50. Windows 2000 does not support writing to UDF volumes.
But there is also some patch for problems with udf
