Rufus instead of the "Recommended USB installation method from Windows"

Postby denilsonsa » 11 Sep 2018, 18:15

SystemRescueCd documentation recommends using its own Windows installer to make a bootable USB drive. I tried using it last week on a Windows 10 laptop, and I'm afraid it did not work. (I was in a hurry, I didn't do any investigation, and I can't help reproducing it anymore.)

Fortunately, I found Rufus. It is a tool to make bootable USB drives on Windows, it is open-source, it seemed to have a better UI/UX than SystemRescueCd installer, and (most important of all) it just worked.

Maybe it could be a good idea to change the documentation to recommend Rufus instead of the current installer. It's also one less tool to maintain yourselves. What do you think?
