Firewire drives and PCMCIA

Questions about how to use the PPC version of SysRescCd.

Firewire drives and PCMCIA

Postby Guest » 18 Jan 2005, 20:40

Today I came across this wonderful tool. I looked at the file list but I can't tell if you have included any support for PCMCIA cards and firewire drives.

I have an external HFS+ formatted DVD-RAM drive (external firewire) that is having some problems but I need either support for firewire or PCMCIA.

Is this possible with SystemRescueCD 0.2.0?

I have now had a few days to try the PPC version of this tool. So far I am unable to get it to boot properly.

I have checked the md5sum of the downloaded iso and checked the burned CD. No problems there.

The Mac that I used to test was a eMac G4. It starts and goes through setting a number of things in the configuration and setup and then just stops.

I don't know what to do next. I will test on another Mac this evening (Powerbook G3 Bronze) to see if I am more successful.

If you have some pointers on what I might be doing wrong or if there is some configuration setting that I am missing (i.e. not in the manual), please post. I would really like to get this going if possible.
