Old way HD installation doesn't work anymore using rescuecd kernel.
I need to do installation this way.
It works using altker32 kernel, but will altker32 kernel work on every configuration?
If I use rescuecd kernel, I get:
md: Autodetecting RAID arrays.
md: Scanned 0 and added 0 devices.
md: ... autorun DONE.
VFS: Cannot open root device "806" or unknown-block(8,6)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option; here are the available partitions:
0100 16384 ram0 (driver?)
0101 16384 ram1 (driver?)
010f 16384 ram15 (driver?)
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,6)
My /etc/lilo.conf contains:
boot = /dev/sda
map = /boot/.map
install = /boot/boot-menu.b
delay = 50
vga = normal
image = /boot/rescuecd
root = /dev/sda6
label = sysrcd
other = /dev/sda1
label = win
table = /dev/hda
It doesn't work.
Strange thing in:
http://sysresccd.org/Sysresccd-manual-e ... n_harddisk
A line "cdroot" is added after "read-only" line.
lilo doesn't accept this line.
I didn't put it before.
In http://sysresccd.org/Sysresccd-manual-e ... n_harddisk this line
mount -t devfs none /mnt/custom/dev
isn't correct anymore.
SysRescCD doesn't use devfs anymore, but udev.
Should I use an alternate line to mount dev udev way?
