version number of SysResCD = Kernel version

Post by LAZA » 01 Nov 2013, 17:17

Hai everybody,

i often use SystemRescueCD as default CD to test hard drives and hardware components.

Usually, i know the notebook is new or 1, 2, 3 years old - but sometimes i get a really old one.
If then the actual version of SysRescCD does not work, the search for one as old as the machine begins...

So i suggest, that the version scheme of SysRescCD goes in lockstep to the Kernel version.

This makes it (in the future) very intuitive to grab the right one.

Maybe a poll about this issue should be started by the maintainers.

LAZA

P.S.: Thanks for a great piece of software, everybody!
