Booting over the LAN

Post by cnd5 » 17 Mar 2009, 14:21

I notice that all modern PCs can boot from their ethernet cards.

Assuming this doesn't already exist (I'm too busy to check in detail), it would be nice if SystemRescueCd came with the option to "activate" this.

In other words - a companion helper program for either/both Linux/Windows, which presented the SystemRescueCd.ISO over the LAN so that any ethernet boot agents connected can pick it up and boot from it.

A SystemRescueCd program, allowing one to boot SystemRescueCd on one PC, which then makes itself available over the LAN to allow other PCs to boot from it too.

Already supported. Read the manual for the details on how it works.
