iscsi target?

Postby costinel » 21 Nov 2008, 14:21

Hi,

I wish I could see iscsi target (http://iscsitarget.sourceforge.net/) and iscsi initiator (open-iscsi.org) to the system rescue cd !

Many thanks,
Costin

Ok, it has been added to sysresccd-1.1.3-beta2. Can you test it when this version is online ?

François,
I just checked the iscsi initiator package included in beta2...

Are you sure your intention was to include sys-block/iscsi-initiator-core (2006) instead of current (Nov 2008) sys-block/open-iscsi (http://packages.gentoo.org/package/sys-block/open-iscsi) ? :)

Thanks,
Costin

Ok, I fixed that. Please try sysresccd-1.1.3-beta4 when I release it.

Hello François,
I tested with beta4, it's ok.
Tested also with beta7, it's ok.

Thank you !
PS: the beta-x86 changelog still says 'core-iscsi-tools' but the disk contains the good package, open-iscsi !

update: i was able to manually download targetcli then everything worked like in these instructions:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ISCSI_Target

i manually downloaded/installed these:
https://github.com/agrover/configshell-fb
https://github.com/agrover/rtslib-fb
https://github.com/greghaskins/pyparsing
https://github.com/agrover/targetcli-fb

and loaded the referenced kernel modules

then i did all steps fromthe wiki and now i am accessing it.

can this be automated/included, so all the tools are ready to config a target? old iet.conf was a very quick and easy config but it is removed from sysrcd (why?!?!)
