startx and wizard d'ont running [solved]

Postby pcouas » 29 Dec 2012, 15:34

Hi,

I have a new PC an IntelCoreI7 with an i686 .
I want use last stable version 3.1.2 and when i launch startx or all wizard option that failed ?
last lines into log files are :
/usr/bin/X (0x8048000+0x1d7a1) [àX80657a1]
Segmentation fault at adress (nil)
Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault)

Where is my problem ?
It 's just downloaded iso without customisation
My PC is an HP Pavillon p6-2390-ef with 1To disc.

Phil

Which kernel did you choose? I would try a different one and try again. See below:

http://www.sysresccd.org/Quick-start-gu ... oot_images

rescue32 The default for 32bit systems, you can use it by default for most things.
rescue64 Default 64 bit kernel. You should use it if you have a 64bit capable processor.
altker32 This is an alternative kernel for 32bit systems. Boot this kernel if you have problems with the rescue32 kernel.
altker64 This is an alternative kernel for 64bit systems. Boot with this kernel in case you have problems with rescue64.

Hi,

My problem seems be resolved with nomodeset parameter.
Currently i try to modify isolinux.cfg for my two PC, one is an 32 bit and the new is an 64bit.
