Mounting a (USB connected) disk, mounted Read-only? [solved]

Post by robheus » 09 Aug 2011, 19:04

I downloaded the system rescue CD (systemrescuecd-x86-2.3.0.iso) and burned that onto CD and booted from that CD.

Booting went perfect.

Then I wanted to mount my USB connected harddisk (with one partition) to some mount point, but I get the message that the device is mounted as a read-only device.

Even if I use the '-w' flag for the 'mount' command, it does not help.

Mount point: /mnt/backup/external_hd

If your HD is ntfs formated use "ntfs-3g" instead of "mount" for full support.
Run dmesg for more info about other problems.
