Hopefully there is a vim expert around :-). I'm trying (so far without success) to change the highlighting on the
vim Search command. Google has lots of posts on how to do this such as in the .vimrc do
:hi Search ctermfg=Blue ctermbg=Yellow cterm=NONE term=NONE
but with that set
:hi shows
...
Search (Red background black text as the example) ctermfg=4 ctermbg=3 guibg=Yellow
...
not the colors that I set and it says it is using. Nothing I have found will override that red background highlight. What I want is the default yellow background and red text but I can't seem to achieve that. Anyone know how? I suspect there is a setting somewhere that I haven't found yet which is overriding what I want but I don't know where it is. Can anyone help?
