Backing store - is it still supported

Postby SteveSi » 22 Dec 2016, 22:19

Has anyone managed to get the backing store feature working?
I created a FAT32 USB drive and have tried various ways to add the sysrcd.bs file but it always seems to be ignored. I even created a 2nd ext3 partition and created the file on that using the recommended script and that was ignored.

I used a USB HDD under VBox. I also tried the backstore=alldev switch.
Nothing I do seems to work.
I used the systemrescuecd-x86-4.9.0.iso and created a .imgPTN file using Easy2Boot.

P.S. It works on a removable Flash drive.

OK - I will answer my own post!
backstore=alldev works, you have to put it before -- in the boot parameter list.
Doh!
