Internet Connection Sharing

Postby base0 » 07 Nov 2015, 02:50

If this is discussed here, kindly provide a link and accept my humble apology for not finding it before asking. It would be swell if there were a quick way, say, while booting into the live CD, to have it set up for internect connection sharing (that's what it's called in Windows!) between two available adapters. If not during boot, having a clean script to enable it would be fine too.

Is there any discussion on the forum about setting it up on a Linux host? Thanks.

Just a idea...
Use NetworkManager applet and setup a interface "shared for other computers". Test it.

save the networkmanager configuration files (/etc/NetworkMaager/*)

Write a autorun script like
/etc/init.d/NetworkManager stop
restore the configuration...depends your data storage
/etc/init.d/NetworkManager start

Sysresccd mount and copies the autorun scripts before they are started. You cant access the device containing the script to read data files because it is unmountet while running.
You can use a "here document" with the configuration in the autorun script. Read bash manual for this.
