Partitioning the sysrescd USB boot device

Postby base0 » 31 Jul 2014, 03:57

I may have overlooked it, but I did not see anything mentioned about whether a bootable USB installation of SystemResceCd would require that the whole USB device be used exclusively by the program. Is there any reason why we cannot make a small partition on a USB drive and put the bootable OS in the partition by following one of the installation methods? As the installation files themselves require little space, I would not want to loose the rest of the drive if it is large. Thanks.

you can do this with sysresccd-usbstick in "step by step" mode

just use help for a overview.
On a stick with a FAT formated partition skip step 2 and 3
Use install-mbr or ms-sys to apply a bootable mbr manual.
