Location for adding files and scripts to customized ISO

Postby rverma » 29 Apr 2014, 09:41

During customization, wanted to add backed-up image files to the new ISO (in ISOROOT).

Had some difficulty, in figuring out the path where the files and scripts would (should) be located once the CD/DVD was made.

Found it to be in /livemnt/boot - also autorun was here.

So any script (autorun) written to be executed should mention the "full path" to any files in ISOROOT (e.g /livemnt/boot/xyz.img.gz) if you have placed your files in ISOROOT.

This is from my experience. In case there is a error in my assumption, corrections and feedback are welcome

What you write work if you don't use the docache option.

The autorun files are searched at the CD root. A script copy them to a temporary location.
They are called from one of the last init scripts.

Thank you Gernot.

Are the additional files also copied over to VAR or only the "autorun" file?

I remember in an old version of sysresccd, I had pointed my scripts to files in /mnt/cdrom/

But now /mnt/cdrom was empty.

Only autorun* and some directorys used for networkboot are copied.

In new sysrcd all system mounts moved into /livemnt to keep /mnt free for the user.
