http_proxy ignored by mirrorselect

Postby mikemol » 07 May 2013, 18:57

Scenario:

[*] Using systemrescuecd-x86-3.5.0
[*] No default route
[*] IP on local subnet has a proxy server and DNS server available.

/etc/resolv.conf contains the IP address of the local DNS server, that works fine.
http_proxy contains the IP address and port of the local proxy server.

Said proxy server settings work fine if I run, e.g. "wget google.com". They do not work when I use mirrorselect:

Code: Select all

[email protected] % set|grep -a http_proxy
http_proxy=10.0.0.1:3128
[email protected] % mirrorselect -i -o >>/mnt/gentoo/etc/portage/make.conf
* Downloading list of mirrors...
ERROR: Could not get mirror list. Check your internet connection.
