Only google.com can browse

Postby gyurman » 08 Oct 2011, 21:18

Hello,
What is a problem?
I can browse only google.com and docs and mail. Another domain is not coming?
Why? How can I browse another with SystemRescueCd-x86-2.3.1?

Sysrcd internet connection works very well.

How you are connected to the internet?
Use you Networkmanager?
Is the entry in /erc/resolv.conf right for your provider?
Are you behind a firewall?
Have you to use a http proxy?

check that only one dhcp server is working in your subnet.
If the router is configured well Networkmanager or dhcpcd get the right coniguration.

show the result from ifconfig ,route and the content of /etc/resolv.conf

easy way with a dhcpserver without Networkmanager is :
dhclient eth0

view the configuration:
------------------------------------------------------
ifconfig
route
cat /etc/resolv.conf
------------------------------------------------------

Manual sample for a router at 192.168.178.1 :
-------------------------------------------------------
ifconfig eth0 192.168.178.20/24
route add default gw 192.168.178.1
echo nameserver 192.168.178.1 >/etc/resolv.conf
-------------------------------------------------------
You can also use 8.8.8.8 as nameserver. (google dns service)
