Mounting LVM2_member

Post by marius1956 » 11 Feb 2011, 09:42

I Installed Fedora 14 on a PC where a Windows partition exists.
Fedora installed in a new partition seen as /dev/sda3
When I try to mount the partition from System Rescue CD v. 2.0 I get a messages saying:
mount: unknown filesystem type 'LV2M_menber'
How can I mount the partition?
Regards

are you sure your fedora dont use lvm?
Use fdisk -l to view what filesystem is noted ( not binding ) in the partitiontable.

Sometime autodetect mount tangles with old data on the disk.
Only in this case you can use "mount device targetdir -t filesystemtype"
