restoring a raid in linux

Post by xavix » 22 Dec 2009, 07:45

Is there any tool capable to restore a damaged linux raid?
Some details: I have a raid-6 composed by 12 HD (1TB each one). For some reason, the sata controller made something wrong, and have marked 3 disks as off-line. Now, when I try to re-activate the raid-6, it cannot start.
All HD have the same uuid and are part of the same raid, and all are marked as spare.

Code: Select all

# cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [raid1] [raid0] [raid6] [raid5] [raid4]
md2 : inactive sdb1[1](S) sdl1[11](S) sdk1[10](S) sdj1[9](S) sdi1[8](S) sdh1[7](S) sdg1[6](S) sdf1[5](S) sde1[4](S) sdd1[3](S) sdc1[2](S) sda1[0](S)

Thanks in advance
