Partimage - Invalid compression level...

Post by edpatterson » 30 Jul 2009, 17:55

This is my first experience with SystemRescueCD so I am probably missing some vital option.

Test machine:
Dell Lattitude e6500, 80gig SATA drive
Target:
Seagate barracuda 80gig 5.25 connected via SATA to USB connector

I booted with the CD, mounted the external drive
ntfs-3g /dev/sdb1 /mnt/windows
loaded partimage, selected the internal drive, sda1, default compression, saved to /mnt/windows/e6500.20090730

It ran just fine and created the file. I then pulled the internal drive, connected it to another laptop via USB adapter and formatted it.

Replaced the drive, rebooted, mounted the external 5.25 drive, loaded partimage and tried to restore the image. If failed with the invalid compression level for /mnt/windows/e6500.20090730.000 error.

I could only select a compression level when creating the image, not restoring it.

Ideas?

Thanks,
Ed
