Vista 64 bit

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don't understand all that I have read. Not just this site, but most of the ones I have been reading on 64 bit and what will work with it and what won't.

I have a new 64 bit computer that came with a single 640 GB drive with RAID. I have turned off the RAID and want to partition the drive. Vista won't seem to allow it, so I am looking for another free source. I was told that SystemRescueCd would do the job, but some of the other programs that I was told would do it specifically said on their sites that they wouldn't.

Will SystemRescueCd partition my Vista 64 bit drive?

Thanks
Peg

You just have to boot with the default boot options, type startx and run GParted from the menu / icon. If startx fails, use wizard. Or just read the quick start guide:
