Can not display / access SATA hard drive partition

Postby gatorback » 21 Jul 2015, 23:15

BACKGROUND: SATA drive boots up to windows XP correctly and is recognized by the BIOS.

USB sysrescueCD: cat /proc/partions only shows the USB partition. Need to access the SATA partition with Partimage.

Please advise actionable test that can diagnose why the partition is not visible and determine corrective action.

Merci!

Try to set the SATA interface in the BIOS setup temporary to IDE emulation mode.

I experimented with other SATA drives and it seems that this particular SSD drive is the only one that is not recognized by sysrescueCD.

Hopefully, this is enough information that can be used to improve sysrecueCD?
