Why don't use latest stable kernel as altkernel?

Questions about problems with your hardware. For example, if you the kernel hangs during boot because of an hardware failure or if you have a problem with a driver not working or missing.

Why don't use latest stable kernel as altkernel?

Postby fpemud » 23 Jun 2015, 01:48

sysrescuecd 4.5.3 is not able to mount my btrfs root file system, because it uses linux-3.14 and linux-3.18
ArchLiveCD works well on this, which uses linux-4.0.4

I'm wondering why sysrescuecd don't use the latest kernel directly as the altkernel?
