Saving dependency cache

Postby echo083 » 10 Feb 2013, 16:48

Hello,

When I boot system rescue cd 3.1.2 on the network via pxe, I am randomly stuck indefinitely on shutdown with the message "Saving dependency cache". What does it mean ? How to avoid it ?

Thanks

If noone has a solution to this problem, maybe someone can explain me which application is trying to save the "dependency cache" ? and what is the "dependency cache" ?

Thanks

The function /etc/init.d/savecache save the dependency between library and executable.
You can remove the file before you shutdown a livesystem, but i think that solves not the blocking.
If you use NFS or NBD shutdown is a critical situation.
