Problem with autorun

Postby grulles » 02 Mar 2012, 11:48

Hello,
I tried to execute one autorun script, but it does not launch.
See my configuration
file /var/lib/tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/default
default rescue
timeout 0
prompt 1
display myf1boot.msg

label bootfromdisk
localboot 0x80

label rescue
kernel kernel/rescue64 ar_source=nfs://1.2.3.4:/sysrescue/config/hostname ar_nowait autoruns=0
append initrd=kernel/initram.igz setkmap=fr docache rootpass=1234 nfsboot=1.2.3.4:/var/lib/tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg

ll /sysrescue/config/hostname
total 16
-rwxr--r--. 1 root root 950 Mar 2 11:13 autorun0

Booting .... OK
but the script autorun0 does not start

Nothing in log after boot on rescue64 kernel
[email protected] /var/log % cat autorun.log
Starting autorun at 20111117-21:15:07

I can mount after my nfs share and execute it by hand and sure, it work fine.

so my question is:
Why the script is not executed?

Version of sysrescuecd = 2.4.1

Many thanks for your help.
Thanks
Damien

use ar_nodel to check that the file is recived.

you can run
/usr/sbin/autorun
to start autorun again.
If this work something is not ready while the script run the first time.
You can add statements to debug and have better control of the output.

Hi Gernot,
Thanks for your reply
It works fine like this. But dhcphostname doesn't work. Need to write a new post :-)

kernel kernel/rescue64
append initrd=kernel/initram.igz setkmap=fr docache rootpass=1234 nfsboot=10.42.144.245:/var/lib/tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg a_source=nfs://10.42.144.245:/sysrescue/scripts autoruns=0 ar_nowait ar_nodel dhcphostname=pralxtest
Issue closed
Thanks
Damien
