pxebootsrv start fails first time with correcting owner/mode

Postby Gandalf » 24 Feb 2012, 13:02

Hi all,

i use SysRecCD 2.5, System is started in textmode (docache and no startx). Then i configure my Nic (eth0) with the following command:
ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.5 netmask 255.255.255.0 up
ifconfig says its all ok
There are two errors when i start /etc/init.d/pxebootsrv start

/var/lib/dhcp: correcting owner
/var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases: creating file
checkpath: correcting mode
/var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases: correcting owner

then i configure my Nic the second time and start the daemon again and all is ok

In my opinion this is an error within the ISO-Image

Thanx Gandalf

This is nt a bug. The owner of the directory is changed to dhcp.
I think your problem is the Networkmanager.

The PXE-Bootserver disable the Networkmanager, but the Networkmanager takes the Interfaces down while stopping.

The solution is to boot with the "nonm" option or run
/etc/init.d/Networkmanager down
before you setup with ifconfig.
