Starting the PXE boot from a running Linux system with kexec

Postby jochens » 25 Nov 2010, 20:10

Hi, is there a way to boot the SystemRescueCD with PXE from a running Linux System using kexec? I have to manage a remote server, but the rescue linux provided there really sucks. So I'd just like to boot the rescue system and then use kexec to start SystemRescueCD. Is this possible?

Regards,
Jochen

It looks like its possible:
search for PXE-Kexec
But you have the problem to configure the PXE-loader to boot about internet.

Storing sysrcd.dat and other files on the target disk would be the easy way.
