Boot parameter rootpass does not work

Post in this forum for problems at boot time, if there was no problem for burning the disc. For example can't find the CD, or strange errors when you press enter at the very first prompt.

Boot parameter rootpass does not work

Postby pangelo » 30 Nov 2015, 08:34

Hello everybody,
I am a new user of SysRescCD and I find this tool wonderful.

I have installed version 4.6.1 to an USB pen drive and I have tried to launch the OS with the boot parameter
rootpass=123456
in order to be able to use automatically the ssh server.

Unfortunately I have realized that this option is not working and that this problem afflicted SysRescCD also in the past (viewtopic.php?f=14&t=4713).

I hope that this problem will be fix.

This old problem was fixed.

If you boot a commandline with automatic CPU selection make sure to write rootpass for your CPU,

A bootline starting with ifcpu64.c32 boot with commands left or right from "--"

Hi,
thank you very much for your help.

PS: It could be useful to document this behaviour in the chapter 03 of the manual.
