How to accelerate the search of .dat

Post in this forum for problems at boot time, if there was no problem for burning the disc. For example can't find the CD, or strange errors when you press enter at the very first prompt.

How to accelerate the search of .dat

Post by tigerfoot » 09 Sep 2007, 16:22

Hello there, I've successfully install sysreccd on my usb key.
version is 0.3.8

The only trouble is about the cdroot configuration
I've try to force the cdroot=/dev/sdb4 (my usbkey) on the kernel boot line.
I've put the scandelay=2
But what ever I put, there's an automatic search :
just after "Activating mdev"
Attempting to mount media: - /dev/sr0 (try it during 20sec)
after it try each other sd and partitions (which take a long long time as I've 9 partition on the sda disk )

I've take a look at the linuxrc script and doesn't understand why it try each device if I give it only one .

Is this a fault/mistake in the script or I don't guess how to declare the correct cdroot parameter .

If someone could awnser quickly it should be nice, I've 10 pc to boot tomorrow.
