Got it to Boot on HP zt1135

Post in this forum for problems at boot time, if there was no problem for burning the disc. For example can't find the CD, or strange errors when you press enter at the very first prompt.

Got it to Boot on HP zt1135

Post by johnswolter » 13 Aug 2007, 19:26

Somewhere in the forms I had reported a boot problem with a HP Pavilion zt1135 (US model). It did not see the CD as being bootable. I have since found that I can get it to boot using the F10 key at system start which was suppose to start the HP Diagnostics. Since that partition was wiped out when the disk crashed and the owner did not save the Recovery CD LINUX was a good choice.

Wanting to do backups I used sysresccd.org's but it would not boot. I started a series of trial and error startups and finally saw the F-key start options and just tried them until the F10 worked. I have also used the trick for openSUSE.org 10.2, g4l, FreeDOS.org, knoppix.net, and a really old Partition Commander CD.

I hope this is of some help to others.
