X and GParted Issues

Post in this forum for problems at boot time, if there was no problem for burning the disc. For example can't find the CD, or strange errors when you press enter at the very first prompt.

Well, I boot into the CD and it all goes well until I'm in and I try to run GParted by typing in "gparted". I get an error like this.

I then try to run X and get this.

Any help?

1) Of course GParted cannot work outside of XOrg
2) Try to start the system with "rescuecd doxdetect dostartx"

startx errors - video mode not supported

First off thanks for offering this cd to everyone, I know it's helped out a lot of people.

Second, is my question, I'm having the same problem as OP, when I type "startx" I get an error - video mode not supported.

You suggested to start the system with "rescuecd doxdetect dostartx", how do you actually do that? Boot and type that? Sorry for the noob question and thanks in adv. for the response.

Type this at the very first prompt (several seconds after you switch on your pc) where the screen is black with a blue part on the top.
