usb installer, CentOS 5 and Corsair Voyager Mini 16GB

Post by DaveQB » 22 Feb 2011, 03:02

systemrescuecd-x86-2.0.1

This combination just makes a mess of this USB device it seems.

When I use the installer, it first fails with the parted command stating and I/O error upon the mklabel command (I haven't the exact output handy sorry).

If I copied the parted binary from the CentOS system (/sbin/parted) to the usb_inst directory, we get past that to completion (sometimes) but then we have this in the system logs:

Any copying to and from the device results in garbled files.

I have ended up going back to the manual method I have used before (and that says it is now deprecated) and so far, it is working great!

Just a bit of feedback.

I wonder about the corrupt files.
Please show the output of " fdisk -l -u "
Did you run badblocks ?
