Auto-scrambling root password... but how can I log in?

Postby steph2607 » 05 Jan 2007, 16:03

Hi,

Gasp!

I can't log in after SysRescCD install (classical way).

Auto-scrambling root password...
... but what is the password?

Another question:
Is it possible to keep old method without password?

In my School, I install each computer with dual-boot.
I install sysresccd automatically and use lilo with password to choose:
Win *
P Linux
P sauve
P restaure
I would like not to have two passwords steps to deal with.

It doesn't seem to be shown in http://www.sysresccd.org/Sysresccd-manu ... disque_dur

Thanks!

Hi,

I read in this thread
Problem with login on a HDD Installation [OK, other pb now]
that I shouldn't get sysresccd login prompt, but I get it.

I did installation old way (http://www.sysresccd.org/Sysresccd-manu ... disque_dur)

I've tried to set password from livecd with chroot but it doesn't work.

It seems password change each boot.
Am I right?

How can I solve the problem?

Thanks!
