I get sometimes old and very old Notebooks, to look onto the HDD (doesn't boot, rescue operations) or make funny sounds, test the disk and other problems... So i would prefer a list of the complete changelogs over the years, which version i can use and which version of gparted , smartmontools , Xorg...

software for hard disk tests: badblocks? [solved]

I got problems with an hard disk, but smartmontools got me no error or hint(s), what the problem could be. Version: 2.8.1 So i would prefer to get another tool for testing hard disk and their surface. The only one i know is badblocks , so other suggestions are also welcome... Wiki: http://en.wikiped...

The last partition is mounted on /pub an formated with NTFS, that all users can work with the files in it. So this data must be kept (i got shurely a backup ;) I had to re-partition this drive for several reasons. The old/new partition layout and the changes should be: sda1 10 GB / 16 GB / sda2 1 GB...

The version 0.4.5 "has a regression that causes security status", so i would appreciate to have the new Midori in the upcoming release.
