It should be possible. In your root directory you should find something like "kernel-3.4.47-std370-amd64.conf" , the existing kernel configfile. Using "make oldconfig" (see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4178526/what-does-make-oldconfig-do-exactly-linux-kernel-makefile) you can reuse the old ker...

I receive an error message, while booting the alternative kernel, that the acpi-cpufreq.ko kernel module can not be found.
