Re: How and where to report a suspected kernel bug?

Try whether the issue exists with the latest version of the gentoo live DVD (Linux Kernel 3.15.6)

http://www.gentoo.org/news/20140826-livedvd.xml

Then I would start here:

Ok. What about version 4.3.1 of SystemRescueCd ? Did you try both the standard and alternative kernel?

Re: Intel GPU GM965 hangs !

Which version of midori is included in Linux Mint? Midori in SysRescCD is 0.5.5.
Unfortunately it is not the latest version 0.5.8, which is available here http://www.midori-browser.org ..

Another option is Firefox, it is available here as a module:

Re: SystemRescueCD Fonts

I think it might be this one:

Code: Select all

/root % rc-update | grep keym
   load-fonts-keymaps |      default

File:
/etc/runlevels/default/load-fonts-keymaps

depend()
{
	after pwgen sshd portmap
	before sysresccd
}

Config:
/etc/conf.d/keymaps

Re: Truecrypt dropped

I have built a gentoo binary package for truecrypt 7.1a using quickpkg. See* http://ge.tt/3Qho2jq1/v/1 Use the below option to emerge it. --usepkg [ y | n ] (-k short option) Tells emerge to use binary packages (from $PKGDIR) if they are available, thus possibly avoiding some time-consuming compiles...

Re: Can not start startx on my Laptop

1. which kernelversion did you use? try the others,see http://www.sysresccd.org/Quick-start-gu ... oot_images
2. run "wizard" and try the different options to configure xorg.
3. Run "cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE" and post the output.

Re: Usb installation failed with status -2102

I would give http://www.linuxliveusb.com/ a try. I use that regularly to install SYSRESCCD on USB media.
