As discussed, we need it to secure erase SSDs and HDDs.

Enabling it just in one of the kernels will make everyone happy.

I'm with cschanzle. I was trying to secure erase a SSD and because the BIOS puts it in "frozen state" without kernel suspend support I just can't do it anymore. "echo -n "mem" >/sys/power/state", press power button and the SSD is not "frozen" anymore. Need oth...

Currently we can't configure with a boot option the devices that sysresccd_find_devices() init function will scan, right?

I think is a good idea add it to sysresccd_parsecmdline().

dcfldd sizeprobe=of is broken (it's also broken on Ubuntu Lucid and I think on every distribuition):
dcfldd: ioctl call to BLKGETSIZE failed

The way to go is dc3dd. Too bad it isn't in the Gentoo package tree... :(
