I am using GNU ddrescue to recover data from a hard drive with bad sectors to a good drive. It is the same sized drive. I suggest adding this tool perhaps, it's a python-based gui to launch Ddrescue.

It's worked great for me on an Easy2boot flash drive (which has a ton of other ISO images). I just had to drop the Sysrescue iso in the _ISO/Linux folder.
