Way 2:
Shrink sda5
add new partitons as replacemant for sda1 and sda2 as sda6 and sda7.
leave sda1 and sda2 unused.

If I follow way 2, will all information and configurations in sda1 and sda2 be transferred to sda6 and sda7?

Re: Question On Re-sizing My Server Partitions

Hi Gernot,

Could you be a little more specific when you say add my partition in the unallocated space? I was hoping I would just be able to right click and re-size my partition that I want to add more space to, but when I do there is no space available for me to add to it.

Thanks,

Question On Re-sizing My Server Partitions

When I free up storage space using system rescue from my largest partition (ntfs) which has 1.35 Tb total, it moves to unallocated but it goes down the list of storage areas, and from what I've read the unallocated storage needs to be next to (or on top?) the partition that I want to add it to (is t...

Able to boot from USB on PC, not on Windows server 2003

I've been somewhat successful in booting system rescue on a test PC. I can boot from USB, get to the Graphical UI where I am able to edit partitions which is exactly my goal for our server. The new issue I am having is when I open boot options on the PC I am shown two USB options to boot from, one o...

USB Drive boot issues

I followed the directions for "USB installation method from Windows". It seemed everything went accordingly on my flash drive. When I go into the Removable disk > usb_inst I click on the syslinux.exe (I'm assuming this is what I need to run). A cmd (black box) prompt opens up for a very qu...

Re: Question about burning to USB on Windows

After playing around I figured out I needed to place this in my directory and not the flash drive =)

Question about burning to USB on Windows [solved]

I'm following the "Recommended USB installation method from Windows" and am confused about: step 5: Create an empty work directory on the hard-disk (could be C:\Temp\sysresccd-workdir) Is this directory supposed to be created inside my USB drive, or the system I currently have the USB driv...

Re: SystemRescue Partitioning on servers

Bump. I'm really just looking for a simple software that will allow me to move storage from one partition to the other when they are not right next to each other. Hence the need for a third party program.

SystemRescue Partitioning on servers

I have a server (Windows 2008 R2 Standard) with multiple partitions and need to move some storage space from one large partition to a smaller one with the OS on it. Does SystemRescue work for Servers or just for PCs?
