[Bug] UEFI boot from USB results in isolinux not found

Using Windows 7 I created a bootable USB using SystemRescueCd-x86-4.9.1 and the SystemRescueCd installer for Windows http://www.sysresccd.org/download/sysresccd-installer-2.0.0.exe It extracts the content and renames isolinux to syslinux for booting with syslinux. However, in my boot options I may o...

Re: sysresc 3.3/3.4 and usb installer 1.4.0 exe

I've run into the same issue. The 2.0.0 installer works, but I have to provide temp directories for extraction and other things now. I liked the older installed and wish it would be updated too so it worked again. For now I just manually extract everything and install it. I modify the syslinux/sysli...

New features and source code to Windows USB install tool

The v2.0.0 of the Windows USB install tool could use the following: Different background color than gray. It is harder to read on my screen. Boot customization options such as keyboard choice and enabling docache just like the old version had. Nice combo boxes. Leaving the Extract folder blank shoul...

Update to SysLinux 4.06 [solved]

SysLinux 4.06 fixes a boot problem on my HP EliteBook 8560w.

Currently when booting from USB with the sysresccd 3.1.1 it uses SysLinux 4.05. I just get stuck at the SYSLINUX 4.05 ... line and don't see anything else.

When I manually installed SysLinux 4.06 it resolved the boot issue.

Re: grub2 and ntpasswd from iso

I filed a feature request to have grub2 support this like grub-legacy does. It has been added to the trunk code for a later release.

grub2 and ntpasswd from iso

So I'm using grub2 to boot from an iso on a usb disk. I get System Rescue CD to work great, but ntpasswd does not. It seems that grub 1 supports multiple initrd images concatenated together, but grub2 doesn't. This is what I've tried: menuentry "System Rescue CD NTPASSWD" { loopback loop $isofullpat...

Re: SystemRescueCD boot iso from within grub2

For grub2 on a usb booting iso's this is the config I've found that works: 2GB USB formatted FAT32 Used Linux to write MBR with Grub2 /boot/grub has all the grub files including /boot/grub/grub.cfg /boot/isos has all of my isos (notice the sub-directory versus isos in the root of the device) System ...

aria2c

http://aria2.sourceforge.net/

It works like wget, but it supports download acceleration by allowing you to download the same file from multiple servers at once.

It also has bittorrent support, but it takes extra compile flags to enable.

Re: How to run memtest in v2.0.0

Got it. The new boot men has an option to enter a submenu for floppy disk images now.

I was used to the old way of hitting tab and providing just "memtest".

You could also do /bootdisk/memtestp

How to run memtest in v2.0.0

When I hit tab and erase the current boot line so it only reads "memtest" and press enter I'm just taken back to the boot menu.

What is the correct sequence to run memtest?

Updated RT73 driver for WPA2 support

Could the rt73 driver and firmware please be updated to the latest RALink version? I'm trying to use a Linksys WUSB54GC with SysRescCd 1.5.8 but WPA2 with wpa_supplicant isn't working due to I believe driver issues. /lib/firmware/rt73.bin should be updated as well. You can download the GPL licensed ...

Re: USB boot: Invalid or damaged bootable partition

I'm having similiar boot issues from a usb stick I just installed from using the Windows tool.

I'll try the syslinux -ma driveletter trick.
