Re: GParted 0.30 and ... SystemRescue project dying ???

Merci gernot, Thx for the clarifications. The way I see it, this entropy issue affects all things in life (usually the best ones ...), not only the software projects. In face of this fact, we do what's possible - evolve and adapt. :\ The forum didn't send me an email notification of your reply - tha...

GParted 0.30 and ... SystemRescue project dying ???

@admin @gernot I may seem to be asking about two entirely different subjects in a single post. But I have a feeling that both of my questions might have the SAME answer ... :( I've been following and using SystemRescueCD since some of its 0.x versions (most of which have been removed from the chang...

Bump . . . :(

Actually, if you're thinking of a different graphical file manager for a future version, it'll be just as welcome - pcmanfm was suggested because it's a recent tool, while lightweight and seemingly successful in a similar distro.

Cheers

PCManfm - lightweight GTK file manager

I have always missed a graphical file manager in sysresccd - I've been using mc since the earliest command-line-only versions of sysreccd, but I feel I spend too much time getting things done. Reading a review of Parted Magic 4.0 I have just found they're using pcmanfm which is a lightweight GTK fil...

Could you test it please: DefaultColorDepth : 16 HorizSync : [28.0 - 70.0] VertRefresh : [50.0 - 60.0] I want to know if DefaultColorDepth must really be 15 or not for you. Well I'm glad to report - it worked with settings above ! So, at least in my case, it's not necessary to set DefaultColorDepth...

Could you tell me if that works with all these working values, except for DefaultColorDepth that you set to 16. I want to know if I should set the DefaultColorDepth to 15 instead of 16, in other words if your problem was due to having 16. Hi François, I'll be glad to perform this test, but I'm in d...

Hi, The most important things are these sections: Monitor, Device, Screen [snip] Hi François, thnks for the help. While waiting for some tip I began experimenting with xorg.conf and tweaking it by checking the log results, and after much trial and error I got a nice working display. Changes follow:...

Garbled X screen - 0.3.3 final [SOLVED]

Hi all, I have been a happy SystemRescueCd user for a number of versions, last one succesfully used was 0.2.19. Now with version 0.3.3 final, I can boot to text-mode but upon doing 'startx' I'm getting a garbled screen image. The problem seems to relate to my HW, because before actually burning the ...

bc - previously included, now missing

Hi there, bc - a calculator utility - was included in SR 0.2.19 (and various previous versions) but is missing in 0.3.2. It is important to me, for I use some scripts for backup / recovery under SR and they rely on bc for reporting about partition sizes, space requirements etc. I think its re-inclus...
