sysresccd-custom for sysrcd.dat only

Hello, it would be nice, if sysresccd-custom would provide an option to customize sysrcd.dat only. I use for example grub on an usb stick to boot sysresccd from the stick. The files I use from sysresccd are only the kernel, initrd and sysrcd.dat. In this case the script sysresccd-custom fails, as so...

no it doesn't work with beta7. As I've said, the ipw2200 driver which is compiled statically into the kernel tries to initialize at boot time but fails as the firmware isn't present. Here's a snippet of dmesg: ipw2100: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Driver, git-1.2.2 ipw2100: Copyright(c) 2003-2...

when the ipw2200 driver is compiled into the kernel statically, it may detect that a n ipw2200 wlan is present but fails to initialize as it can't find the firmware. sysrcd.dat is mounted AFTER the driver tries to initialize. AFAIK there's no way to tell the statically compiled driver afterwards to ...

Hello, I guess the only possible solution is to have ipw2200 as module, as the directory which contains the firmware (/usr/lib/hotplug/firmware) isn't present if the kernel boots up. So my suggestion is to have ipw2200 (also ipw2100) as modules and either put the firmwares into /usr/lib/hotplug/firm...

ipw2200 missing firmware

Hello, the ipw2200 code is apparently compiled into the kernel (sysresccd 0.3.0-beta5). The driver doesn't load as the firmware is missing. 1. what about including the firmware (I guess it should be in /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware)? 2. if the firmware can't be included due to license issues, I'd rather...

booting with grub from usb stick doesn't work with 0.3.0

Hello, I booted former systemrescuecd's with grub w/o problems. This doesn't work with neither 0.3.0 nor 0.3.1-beta5 any more. My grub menu.lst looks like this: title fb1024 sysresccd 0.3.1-beta5 root (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz1 root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc vga=791 looptype=squashfs loop=/sysrcd.dat us...
