Re: Old version and changelogs request

I would appreciate a lot, if 32 bit 5-version would be updated to same level with the 6-version at some point. Anyway, 5.3.2 probably has everything that I need for now.

Re: Old version and changelogs request

There were some problems with installing 5.3.2 to usb stick. Tried using both Yumi and Rufus. With Yumi it started otherwise ok, but couldn't find srcd.dat on boot. That was fixed by moving the srcd.dat couple of directories up.

Old version and changelogs request

I need to backup and restore very old Celeron which has Celeron cpu. Are these 5.x versions still compatible ? Where can I get the changelog for the versions 4.x ?

What this means with the Celeron ?

Re: UDF-version

Yes, that is exactly what I tried, but it didn't help. I was not able to find any way to solve this in Linux, even when I tried to compare the first sectors to udf-specification. After a while I noticed that Windows 7 scandisk/chkdsk shows the version of UDF without problems. Windows 7 tools says th...

Re: dd

you should use gnu ddrescue instead. Much easier and better for damaged harddrives.

Re: How to list NTFS files, which use some specific sector?

The latest version in sourceforge is something that works very very fast compared to other versions.
With these softwares there is also support for ext-filesystems and even more. They should be definitely installed in srcd.

Re: How to list NTFS files, which use some specific sector?

Actually the better version is here: http://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php?t=22392&start= and even better here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11779251 and probably better here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ddrutility/ I used today the one from Ubuntu-forums and with couple of libs fro...

Re: How to list NTFS files, which use some specific sector?

I found solution: http://blog.pfuender.net/archives/80 I would like this to be included also to the systemrescuecd. Please notice the comments of someone (gnu) who already used it with srcd. I had to modify the grep of original script as Gnu wrote. Nice little script, but too bad I still have too ma...
